MOUNT LAUREL – The Mount Laurel Township School Board recently announced the recipients of the 2022-23 Governor of New Jersey’s Educator of the Year (GEOY) Awards.

    Nominations made by students, parents, administrators, staff and community members were assessed by a selection committee at each of the eight schools using a specific scoring system and rubric provided by the New Jersey Department of Education.

    The award criteria include exceptionally qualified and dedicated licensed teachers and an educational services professional whose expertise inspires students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn. Beneficiaries actively collaborate with their colleagues, students and families and thus create a strong culture of respect and achievement.

    The recipients, honored at the Jan. 24 school board meeting, flanked by Danielle Stuffo, board chair and Dr. George Rafferty, superintendent of schools, are left to right: Lori Alfieri, school nurse, Thomas E. Harrington Middle School; Lauren Parsons-Lam, music, Springville Elementary School; Charina Zimmerli, Grade 1, Hillside Elementary School; Robyn Bulicki, Grade 3 Special Education, Countryside Elementary School; Lori Donnelly, math specialist, Parkway Elementary School; Alamelu Sundaram-Walters, English as a Second Language, Fleetwood School; Maira Medina, Grade 1, Larchmont Elementary School and Michael Zilberfarb, Grade 6 Math, Mount Laurel Hartford School.
