Nominations are open for the 80th Annual Personality of the Year Awards. The Santa Barbara Foundation invites members of the community to nominate an individual, couple or family to be considered for honors.
Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. on February 24 at https://www.sbfoundation.org/person-of-the-year-nominations/.
The Person of the Year awards honor individuals, couples or families in the Santa Barbara area whose extraordinary service represents a significant commitment to the community; meets a real community need or improves quality of life; or has demonstrated exemplary acts of generosity, kindness, or innovation in the Santa Barbara area.
Recipients are selected from a wide range of candidates nominated by community members.
“We are honored to be the organizing sponsor of the annual Personality of the Year Awards, which gives us the opportunity to stop and thank the people who are so dedicated to their community,” said Jackie Carrera, President and CEO of the Santa Barbara Foundation.
“It’s also a landmark year – the 80e year of recognition for philanthropic contributions to our region and 80 years of community gratitude,” she said.

The inaugural Persons of the Year were Harold Chase in 1942 and Pearl Chase in 1956. The award was known as Man and Woman of the Year and retained that name until 2020.
