At the end of the night, the Triangle sadness camp had won a landslide victory, winning six awards out of its nine nominations, while the seven nominations for Boy’s Heaven culminated in a repeat performance in the Best Screenplay category, the film’s only win of the night.
In addition to the award for best film, triangle of sadness also won Best Supporting Actress and Actor – Dolly de Leon and Zlatko Buric – Best costumes, best makeup and best director award for Östlund himself. As the film’s English dialogue prevents it from being nominated for Best International Feature Film at the Oscars, this year’s choice, sky boy, still has a shot at being nominated in this category after making the December shortlist. Saleh’s film also received the Swedish Film Critics Association’s annual award, the Greta Award, announced last week.
